Shah Rukh Khan sets the mahaul for Jawan

On Monday morning, Shah Rukh Khan delivered a lot more than he promised in the form of a prevue of his upcoming entertainer, Jawan. The film marks his first collaboration with south director Atlee and Lady Superstar Nayanthara, as she is known in the Tamil movie industry. Also starring Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, Vijay Sethupathi as the antagonist, and Deepika Padukone in a special role, the film has been making news ever since its announcement.

The two minutes and fifteen seconds long preview gives a good idea of what to expect from the film that arrives in cinemas on September 7. Riding high on the stupendous success of Pathaan, SRK is in full form. If his inimitable voiceover in the beginning builds the curiosity of what is in store, his crazy dance in a bald avatar in the end has multiplied the excitement manifold for this unapologetic masala fare. The no-holds-barred epic entertainer has several highlights and King Khan’s different looks are akin to just the tip of the iceberg.

Action, emotion, chartbuster songs, visually extravagant and what have you, Jawan is a perfect blend of all the ingredients of a big screen extravaganza. So much so that every scene has blockbuster written all over it.

Needless to say, larger-than-life action seems to be one of the high points of the movie. The train scene, the helicopter shots, a chase sequence are ample proof. SRK also seems to have a special introductory song as he saunters on the screen in a red shirt. Reports of the superstar playing double role, of a father and son have already got the audiences excited about watching this Atlee directorial.

Moreover, the leading ladies also seem to have a good go at action – be it Nayanthara storming out of the SUV or Deepika’s dhobi-pachhaad of an opponent. If Sanya Malhotra’s character looks intriguing, Vijay Sethupathi punching away gives an idea that their clash will be worth the way.

A dekko of the preview on the big screens will be available this Friday, as this teaser of Jawan will be attached along with Tom Crusie’s Mission Impossible: 7.
