Jawan’s Unstoppable Box Office Journey: Crosses Rs 700 Crore Mark Globally

Director Atlee’s latest film, starring Shah Rukh Khan, is rewriting box office records both in India and worldwide. ‘Jawan’, which was released on Janmashtami, set a historic precedent with a staggering opening of Rs 75 crore net in India – a record debut for Hindi cinema. Within the first three days, it crossed the coveted Rs 100 crore mark globally.

As the week progressed, ‘Jawan’ maintained its strong performance. It raked in an additional Rs 32 crore in India on Monday and Rs 26 crore on Tuesday. On its seventh day, the film contributed another Rs 23 crore net in India.

Mumbai and Delhi-NCR, key markets for film collections, continued to show robust support with occupancy rates of 24% and 25%, respectively, on Wednesday. ‘Jawan’ is not only a testament to Shah Rukh Khan’s pan-Indian appeal but also to its unique multilingual release, including Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions.

Directed by Atlee, known for his work with Tamil superstar Vijay, ‘Jawan’ also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. It has become a cinematic powerhouse, poised to surpass the records of other blockbusters like ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘Pathaan’, reaffirming Shah Rukh Khan’s Bollywood reign.
