The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) announced its decision to sever ties with the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on September 25. The party revealed its intention to withdraw from the NDA following a meeting involving district secretaries, headquarters secretaries, Members of Parliament, and Members of the Legislative Assembly in Chennai. K.P. Munusamy, the deputy general secretary of the AIADMK, conveyed to reporters that the BJP’s State leadership had been deliberately and systematically tarnishing the reputation of party stalwarts like C.N. Annadurai and Jayalalithaa, while also critiquing the party’s policies over the past year.
