PM Modi Emphasizes Global Unity Amidst Divisive Climate at G20 Gathering

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the inclusion of six new countries in the BRICS alliance as a significant diplomatic achievement, noting the challenges of uniting diverse nations on a shared platform in today’s polarized global scenario.

Speaking at the G20 University Connect Finale, attended by approximately 3,000 students at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, PM Modi emphasized, “Bringing so many nations together on one platform amid today’s polarised international atmosphere is not a small thing.”

Reflecting on the impact of the New Delhi Declaration, the Prime Minister asserted, “The unanimous consent to our New Delhi Declaration continues to be the international headline. India spearheaded numerous vital initiatives and resolutions during this period. Some of the decisions made during the G20 have the potential to shape the course of the 21st century.”

PM Modi hailed the youth as his “true superpower” and implored them to rally behind his vision of propelling India into a developed nation by 2047.

Taking a dig at critics and political opponents, the Prime Minister remarked, “People criticise me by saying that I put people in jail, but where should those be who have looted the country?”

The event, which convened students from across India, aimed to boost youth engagement in G20 affairs.
