Tamil Nadu’s Sports Minister and DMK’s youth wing secretary, Udhayanidhi Stalin, have stirred up controversy by launching a bike rally for the party’s youth meeting on the anniversary of Nathuram Godse’s execution. The event, inaugurated by Udhayanidhi Stalin, marks the second youth wing meeting to be held under his leadership on December 17. The rally, covering a distance of 8,647 km across Tamil Nadu, involves 188 DMK youth wing cadres engaging with the state’s youth to invite them to the upcoming meeting.
However, the controversy arose when Udhayanidhi shared pictures of the event on social media, stating, “On the day of Godse’s execution, the grandsons of Periyar are starting from Gandhi Mandapam in Kanyakumari against grandsons of Periyar.”
This statement has sparked a fresh debate and raised eyebrows, as it coincides with the anniversary of Nathuram Godse’s execution, the man who assassinated Mahatma Gandhi. Udhayanidhi’s choice of words and timing has drawn attention and criticism from various quarters.
