Renowned actor Sharmila Tagore recently shared a moment of astonishment on the popular talk show ‘Koffee With Karan 8’ when her son, Bollywood luminary Saif Ali Khan, admitted unfamiliarity with the term ‘putra moh’.
During their appearance together on the show, a segment unfolded where Sharmila Tagore referenced her attachment towards her son using the term ‘putra moh’. To her surprise, both Saif Ali Khan and the show’s host, Karan Johar, displayed a lack of understanding regarding the term’s meaning.
Delving deeper into the term, Sharmila Tagore tried to elucidate its components, stating, “‘Putra’ signifies son and ‘moh’ refers to…?” Saif humorously quipped, “Is ‘moh’ related to Gulmohar?” attempting to decipher the term’s meaning. He further ventured a guess, associating the term with Bengali, suggesting it meant ‘my son’ in the regional language, a sentiment Karan Johar acknowledged.
Expressing a mix of amusement and resignation, Sharmila Tagore remarked, “I give up,” highlighting her surprise at the duo’s unfamiliarity with the term. The revelation eventually led to a light-hearted moment, with both Saif and Karan sharing a laugh over the episode.
SHIFTING FOCUS TO THEIR PROFESSIONAL ENDEAVORS
Away from the on-screen banter, Saif Ali Khan’s recent cinematic venture was the Om Raut-helmed ‘Adipurush’, where he portrayed the character of Lankesh. The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Prabhas and Kriti Sanon, garnered mixed reviews post its release. Meanwhile, marking her return to the cinematic world, Sharmila Tagore was lauded for her role in the critically acclaimed movie ‘Gulmohar’.
