In a historic moment for Telangana, Anumula Revanth Reddy has been officially sworn in as the Chief Minister, following the triumph of his party in the recently concluded assembly elections. Alongside him, Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu assumed the crucial role of Deputy Chief Minister in the state.
The swearing-in ceremony, a symbol of the democratic transition, unfolded at the expansive LB Stadium in Hyderabad. The event marked a significant political milestone as the Congress party emerged victorious, leading to the change in leadership in Telangana.
In addition to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, ten other leaders took the oath of office as ministers. The notable figures who joined the state’s leadership include Damodar Raja Narasimha, Uttam Kumar Reddy, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Seethakka, Ponnam Prabhakar, Sridhar Babu, Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Konda Surekhaa, Jupally, and Krishna Ponguleti.
The oath-taking ceremony drew dignitaries from across the political spectrum, with Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) chairperson Sonia Gandhi, former AICC president Rahul Gandhi, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, and his deputy DK Shivakumar among the notable attendees.
Given the legislative framework, Telangana can have a total of 18 ministers, including the Chief Minister, based on the assembly’s strength.
This transition of power marks a significant political shift in Telangana, with the Congress party reclaiming governance from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). The surge in the BJP’s vote share and overall tally adds complexity to the political landscape, highlighting the evolving dynamics in the region.
As Telangana ushers in this new phase of leadership, all eyes are on the policies and strategies that the newly formed government under Anumula Revanth Reddy will adopt to address the state’s challenges and aspirations.
