Candy Crush Controversy: Chhattisgarh CM Baghel Faces Political Heat Ahead of Assembly Polls

Chhattisgarh’s political landscape witnessed a surprising twist when BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya accused Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel of playing Candy Crush during a party meeting focused on selecting candidates for the upcoming assembly polls. Sharing an unverified photograph from the meeting, Malviya suggested that Baghel was seemingly “relaxed,” implying that he didn’t believe the government’s leadership would change.

In a social media post, Malviya stated, “Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel is also relaxed, he knows that no matter how much he fights, the government will not come. Perhaps that is why, instead of paying attention to the meeting related to Congress candidate selection, he thought it appropriate to play CANDY CRUSH.”

As the state gears up for assembly elections, the Congress relies on Baghel’s government’s welfare schemes to maintain power, while the BJP seeks to exploit issues like alleged corruption and unmet commitments. The Congress’s Central Election Committee is scheduled to meet on October 12 to finalize its list of candidates. The BJP has already announced 85 candidates for the 90-member assembly, which will conduct elections in two phases on November 7 and November 17. In the previous 2018 assembly polls, the Congress secured 68 seats out of 90, leaving the BJP with just 15.
