Dia Mirza, the ‘Greenpreneur of the Year 2023,’ continues her sustainability journey, setting a trend as an eco-conscious fashion influencer. At the recent Planet India launch, dedicated to celebrating innovative Indian solutions to environmental challenges, Dia made a striking statement in a recycled ensemble from Tilla by Aratrik Dev Varman.
Styled by Theia Tekchandaney, Dia donned an oversized midi dress with a cape-length jacket. The Prussian blue dress featured intricate geometric patterns in white, complemented by a full-sleeve shrug. Completing the look were silver oxidized jhumkas and black shoes.
Dia expressed her gratitude to the designer for contributing to the ‘Recycled Project,’ a zero-waste initiative by Tilla in collaboration with Soach, an NGO in Gujarat, India. This project creatively utilizes fabric scraps from their workshops, ensuring no labor goes to waste by incorporating these scraps into new clothing designs and quilts.
This isn’t Dia’s first foray into sustainable fashion. Last year, she made a statement by wearing a printed ‘bloom-moon’ co-ord set from the sustainable fashion brand Ekastories during a meeting with the CEO of the Wildlife Trust of India. Her pastel orange blazer and matching straight-fit pants, adorned with digitally printed floral motifs, exuded elegance. Minimal jewelry and brown flats completed her chic look, emphasizing the outfit’s vibrant aesthetics.
Dia Mirza’s commitment to sustainable fashion not only showcases her impeccable style but also sends a powerful message about the importance of eco-conscious choices in the world of glamour and beyond.
