Shah Rukh Khan’s latest cinematic offering, ‘Dunki’, directed by the acclaimed Rajkumar Hirani, is demonstrating commendable resilience at the box office. Despite releasing in close proximity to Prabhas’ blockbuster ‘Salaar’, ‘Dunki’ has managed to sustain its momentum and capture audience attention.
‘Dunki’, which premiered on December 21, has been steadily amassing a significant box office collection. The film commenced its theatrical journey with a robust opening of Rs 29.2 crore domestically. As the days progressed, ‘Dunki’ faced competition from other releases but maintained its stronghold. By the end of Day 7, the film had garnered an impressive Rs 10.5 crore nationwide.
Preliminary estimates for Day 8 indicate that ‘Dunki’ secured an additional Rs 9 crore, keeping its domestic box office performance consistent. Notably, the film recorded a Hindi occupancy rate of 14.36%.
‘Dunki’ boasts a star-studded ensemble cast, with Shah Rukh Khan leading alongside the versatile talents of Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover. Produced under the banners of JIO Studios, Red Chillies Entertainment, and Rajkumar Hirani Films, the movie is a collaborative venture between Rajkumar Hirani and Gauri Khan. The screenplay for ‘Dunki’ is credited to the trio of Abhijat Joshi, Rajkumar Hirani, and Kanika Dhillon, further enhancing its cinematic appeal.
