Severe hailstorms and thunderstorms struck various districts in Madhya Pradesh, causing havoc and resulting in the tragic death of two children in Shahdol district due to a lightning strike. The victims, a six-year-old boy and a nine-year-old girl from a tribal community, were collecting wood near a tree when the lightning struck. In Bhopal, strong winds uprooted trees in several areas. The India Meteorology Department recorded maximum wind speeds of 74 km/h in Bhopal, 48 km/h in Sehore, and 43 km/h in Shajapur. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav directed district collectors to assess crop damage and provide appropriate relief to affected farmers.
