J&K Police Agency Conducts Raids on Suspected Overground Workers for Militants

The State Investigation Agency, a specialized unit of the Jammu and Kashmir Police dedicated to probing terror-related cases, conducted raids on Tuesday at the residences of four individuals suspected of functioning as overground aides for militants in Udhampur and Jammu districts.

During the operation, authorities confiscated electronic devices, including mobile phones and SIM cards. It is reported that the SIA initiated these searches based on intelligence indicating that these overground workers were utilizing social media platforms to relay crucial information to militants based in Pakistan and their handlers. To carry out these searches, the agency secured a search warrant under the stringent Unlawful Activities Prevention Act from a court.

The individuals under suspicion, whose premises were subject to search in Udhampur’s Basantgarh, include Nazir Ahmed, Mohammad Rafiq, and Altaf Hussain. Additionally, the SIA conducted a search at the residence of Mohammed Iqbal in Jammu’s Sunjwan area.
