Kerala Serial Blasts Death Toll Rises to 3, All-Party Meeting Convenes for Resisting Mistrust and Intolerance

The death toll in the Kerala serial blasts surged to three as a 12-year-old girl succumbed to her injuries at the Kalamassery Government Medical College Hospital. An urgent all-party meeting, headed by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, emphasized the need to counter attempts to foster mistrust and intolerance following the tragic incident at the Kalamassery convention centre. The death count in the Kerala serial blasts rose to 3 on Monday, with the young victim identified as Libina from Malayattoor in Ernakulam district.

The blasts, which occurred during a gathering of Jehovah’s Witnesses followers, led to the injury of over 50 individuals. Notably, a man named Dominic Martin claimed responsibility for the incident, though the police are currently investigating his involvement. The explosives used were reportedly housed in a tiffin box, leading to a fire triggered by an IED device.

Amidst the investigation, an all-party consensus was reached during the Chief Minister’s meeting, emphasizing the importance of preventing baseless accusations and rumors. Additionally, teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the National Security Guard (NSG) were deployed in Kerala to aid local authorities in the investigation.
