Bollywood actor Meera Chopra recently delved into her relationship dynamics with her well-known cousins, Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra. Despite sharing a familial bond, Meera disclosed that the trio does not have the close ‘sisterhood’ that many might assume exists among them, especially in the demanding entertainment industry.
Speaking candidly with Siddharth Kannan, Meera expressed, “While there has always been a familial connection, our relationship lacks the depth of a close sisterhood. When entering the entertainment industry, one expects support, especially from family members already established within it. Unfortunately, that support was conspicuously absent in my case.”
Reflecting on their shared history, Meera fondly remembered their joint family upbringing, where they resided under one roof during their younger years. However, as individual success stories emerged, Meera highlighted the inevitable shifts in family dynamics, stating, “Success often changes perceptions, and sometimes, it distances individuals within close-knit families.”
While Meera maintains a warm rapport with Priyanka’s family and fondly recalls attending Priyanka’s wedding festivities with Nick Jonas, her relationship with Parineeti is notably different. Acknowledging the longstanding communication gap between their respective families, Meera elucidated, “There are certain familial rifts that I choose not to cross, to ensure the well-being of my own family.”
Despite the apparent distance, Meera remains optimistic about fostering genuine connections, particularly with Priyanka’s family. She expressed her eagerness to arrange a special film screening for Madhu Chopra, adding, “Priyanka has always been a beacon of generosity. While the sisterhood bond may be missing from their end, my affection and respect for them remain intact.”
