Political Developments: Yogi Cabinet Gathers in Ayodhya, Lok Sabha Panel on Mahua, KCR's Nomination Filing

In recent political developments, the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, is scheduled to convene in Ayodhya, coinciding with the upcoming consecration of Ram Lalla at the temple. The much-anticipated event is slated to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, signifying the significance of the occasion. The foundation stone for the temple was laid in 2020 after the Supreme Court’s ruling in 2019, resolving the longstanding Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi land dispute.

Preceding the cabinet meeting, the ministers will partake in a grand Deepotsava, aiming to illuminate the city with 21 lakh diyas at various ghats of the Saryu River. The government’s focus on Ayodhya’s development ahead of the temple’s consecration remains a key priority, reflecting in the Cabinet’s agenda and the scheduled visit to prominent religious sites.

On another note, the Lok Sabha Ethics Committee is addressing the cash-for-query accusations against TMC MP Mahua Moitra, with a proposed recommendation for her expulsion from the 17th Lok Sabha. The draft report also highlights BSP MP Danish Ali’s violation of parliamentary procedures. The anticipated submission of dissent notes by the opposition members adds to the ongoing developments within the committee.

In Telangana, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is expected to file his nomination papers from both the Gajwel and Kamareddy Assembly seats, underscoring the intensifying political landscape in the state. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s campaign efforts are in full swing, preparing for the upcoming electoral challenges.

In a parallel political landscape, the YSR Congress Party in Andhra Pradesh is initiating the “Why AP Need Jagan” campaign, aimed at highlighting the state government’s achievements and countering opposition allegations.
