Pugazh and Kuraishi Issue Apology After Skit Mocking Kamal Haasan Sparks Backlash

Comedians Pugazh and Kuraishi, known for their participation in the reality show Cooku with Comali, have faced criticism for a comedy skit performed in Dubai that allegedly mocked Kamal Haasan. The skit, where Kuraishi mimics Haasan using the word ‘Maya’ in reference to a contestant from Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7, has received severe backlash from fans.

In the video, when asked about Haasan’s favorite district, Kuraishi responds with “Mayavaram,” and when questioned about the actor’s favorite film, the answer is “Mayabazaar.” The skit suggests a special affinity between Haasan and the contestant Maya Krishnan, leading to accusations of vulgarity.

Following the outrage, Pugazh and Kuraishi issued apologies on social media, expressing that the skit was not intended to hurt anyone and acknowledging their mistake. Despite the apologies, the comedians continue to face criticism from Kamal Haasan’s fanbase.
