Rahul Gandhi’s OBC Empowerment Rally in Madhya Pradesh: A Call for Change

Rahul Gandhi's OBC Empowerment Rally in Madhya Pradesh: A Call for Change

In a powerful rally in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, Rahul Gandhi, a senior Congress leader, demanded tangible empowerment for the Other Backward Class (OBC) community. Gandhi’s speech, part of the ‘Jan Akrosh’ yatra in Shajapur district, critiqued the BJP’s stance on OBCs, echoing Congress’s renewed commitment to OBC representation amid rising Hindutva politics.

Highlighting the need for OBC representation within the Women’s Reservation Bill, Gandhi challenged PM Narendra Modi’s dedication to OBC welfare. He questioned why OBCs were excluded from the bill’s scope, emphasizing Congress’s push for inclusivity.

Gandhi also exposed a glaring disparity – only three out of 90 government officers are OBCs, controlling a mere 5% of the budget allocation, despite OBCs constituting 50% of the population. His demand for a caste census, which the government hesitates to release, underscored the urgency for OBC empowerment.

Rahul Gandhi’s speech, which also criticized corporate influence and alleged corruption in Madhya Pradesh, resonated with the audience. His call for change, unity, and OBC empowerment positions Congress as a formidable contender in the upcoming elections in the state.
