In a recent revelation, renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani shared heartfelt insights into his long-standing desire to collaborate with Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan. As the director’s much-anticipated film “Dunki” graced the screens, Hirani reminisced about his initial encounter with Shah Rukh Khan’s acting prowess on the television series “Circus.”
Hirani, celebrated for crafting cinematic masterpieces over the past two decades, expressed his admiration for Shah Rukh Khan’s talent, tracing back to the early days of the actor’s career. Reflecting on the memorable scene from “Circus” that captivated him, Hirani recalled, “I was deeply moved by his performance in that particular scene. I was determined to collaborate with him once I embarked on my filmmaking journey.”
However, fate had other plans, as Shah Rukh Khan soared to unprecedented heights of stardom by the time Hirani graduated from the film institute. Their paths finally converged with “Dunki,” marking a significant milestone in their respective careers.
Recounting his experience of directing Shah Rukh Khan in “Dunki,” Hirani confessed to being utterly spellbound by the actor’s charisma. He humorously remarked, “I would immerse myself in the moment, blocking out all distractions with an eye mask and earplugs. Only when the shot concluded would I emerge from my trance-like state, eager to witness Shah Rukh’s brilliance firsthand.”
