Renowned South Indian star Samantha Ruth Prabhu, known for her stellar performance in The Family Man Season 2 and her upcoming role in the Indian version of Citadel alongside Varun Dhawan, recently shared insights about her life, highlighting her transition from modelling to acting and the value of education. In a candid interview with Harper’s Bazaar India, Samantha delved into her early experiences, emphasizing the significance of modelling during a challenging phase in her life.
Reflecting on her journey, Samantha revealed, “I did dabble in modelling in the initial stages of my career, focusing on education while also exploring the modelling world. Education has always been emphasized in every Indian household, and I was no exception. I was a dedicated student, often waking up at 4 a.m. to revise for exams. Although acting wasn’t initially on my radar, my mother encouraged me to take it easy, providing a different perspective.”
During a difficult period at home when continuing her education seemed impossible, modelling emerged as a purposeful pursuit for Samantha. She admitted, “Modelling provided me with a sense of direction during a challenging phase. While I struggled and felt lost, it offered me a goal and a plan. Admittedly, my early experiences in front of the camera weren’t smooth sailing, and I often cringe at my earlier performances, realizing how much I’ve grown since then.”
This year, Samantha took a break from her professional commitments to prioritize her health and seek treatment for myositis, an autoimmune disease. Shedding light on this decision, she expressed her desire to experience life more fully. Samantha emphasized the importance of taking a break from the relentless pursuit of external validation, focusing instead on living in the moment and cherishing time spent with loved ones. She believes these experiences will enhance her acting skills, acknowledging that life’s lessons are invaluable in shaping one’s performances.
