Security Forces Eliminate Three Maoists in Chhattisgarh Encounter

In a significant operation, security forces successfully neutralized three Maoists during an encounter in the Abujhmad area of Chhattisgarh’s Kanker district. The operation, conducted by a joint team of District Reserve Guards (DRG), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), and Border Security Force (BSF), commenced around 8 am in southern Abujhmad, near Koylibeda village. Abujhmad, a vast unsurveyed area larger than Goa, has been a stronghold for Maoist activities.

The security forces, acting on intelligence inputs, engaged the Maoists deep within the forest, resulting in the elimination of three male insurgents. Recovering indigenously made weapons from the site, authorities are working to identify the deceased. Kanker district’s Superintendent of Police, Kalyan Elesela, confirmed the operation’s success.

The encounter occurred near a newly established police camp, indicative of the intensified anti-Naxal operations in the region. The Chhattisgarh police have strategically positioned multiple camps in Kanker to enhance security measures against Maoist activities.
