In a candid revelation during a recent award ceremony, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan shared insights into the challenging experiences his family endured in the past few years, notably addressing the arrest of his son, Aryan Khan, in 2021. Receiving a special award from News18, Shah Rukh opened up about the tough times and the valuable lesson he learned during this period.
Expressing gratitude for the award, Shah Rukh Khan acknowledged the rollercoaster ride his family had faced, both personally and amidst the global challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. Reflecting on his professional front, he humorously dismissed trade analysts who predicted his downfall after a series of films that did not perform well at the box office.
Turning to the personal aspect, Shah Rukh touched upon the “bothersome and unpleasant” events, alluding to Aryan Khan’s arrest during the Cordelia cruise drugs bust. Aryan, who spent almost a month behind bars, was eventually cleared of all charges. Shah Rukh imparted a lesson he gleaned from the experience: “Be quiet, work hard with dignity. When you think everything is good, suddenly out of nowhere, life will come and hit you.”
He emphasized the importance of maintaining hope and being an honest storyteller during challenging times. Quoting a line from his film “Om Shanti Om,” Shah Rukh suggested that if the story doesn’t have a happy ending, it simply means the narrative is still unfolding.
Acknowledging the success of his recent films “Pathaan,” “Jawan,” and “Dunki,” which collectively grossed over Rs 2500 crore worldwide, Shah Rukh Khan expressed awareness that many viewers supported the films primarily to stand by him, even if they weren’t his biggest fans.
While basking in the success of his recent projects, Shah Rukh Khan concluded by hinting at his anticipation for the next chapter, as he is yet to announce his upcoming project.
