In a bid to sustain the excitement surrounding the upcoming film Dunki, Shah Rukh Khan shared a tantalizing sneak peek of the movie’s new song, “O Maahi.” The announcement was made on X (formerly Twitter), where SRK also took the opportunity to elucidate the meaning of Dunki in both Hindi and English.
The megastar unveiled that Dunki signifies being apart from loved ones and cherishing every moment when together. SRK’s caption read, “Feel the love before the sun sets on the horizon today.” Additionally, he revealed that the full promotional video of “O Maahi” would be released soon.
In English, Shah Rukh explained, “Because everybody asks, what does Dunki mean? Dunki means being apart from your loved ones. And when you are with them, one feels the moment should last till the end of time. O Maahi O Maahi….feel the love before the sun sets on the horizon today!”
In a recent #AskSRK session, Khan highlighted “O Maahi” as one of his favorite tracks from Dunki’s album. The film boasts an ensemble cast featuring Boman Irani, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover.
Shah Rukh Khan’s cinematic journey in 2023 has been exceptional, with consecutive blockbusters, Pathaan and Jawan, grossing over Rs 2000 crore worldwide. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki marks the director’s return to the theatrical scene since 2018’s Sanju, which became the biggest hit of that year, earning Rs 588 crore worldwide, as per Sacnilk. The film is set for a worldwide release in cinemas on December 21, 2023
