TMC Leaders Ejected From Krishi Bhavan Amidst Controversy Over Unpaid Dues

TMC leaders, led by Abhishek Banerjee, were forcibly removed by police from Krishi Bhavan in New Delhi after Union Minister Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti declined to meet a delegation of over 30 TMC members. The delegation sought the clearance of pending dues for MGNREGA workers in West Bengal. Despite having an appointment with the minister, the delegation was made to wait for an hour and then asked to send only five members. They insisted that all members, including MGNREGA cardholders, be allowed to meet the minister.

As tensions escalated, police removed the delegation. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee criticized the incident as an attack on democracy and accused the BJP government of disregarding the rights of the poor. She called for a protest at Raj Bhawan on October 5th. Meanwhile, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti claimed that the TMC members had ulterior political motives.

This incident reflects ongoing political tensions between the TMC and BJP, with allegations of fund withholding and political maneuvering in the backdrop of MGNREGA issues.
